The Directorate of Environment at Bappenas has been collaborating with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the GIZ Climate and Biodiversity Hub Indonesia on updating Indonesia’s biodiversity status and developing the Indonesian Ecoregion Biodiversity Status, key components of the Indonesian Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (IBSAP) 2025-2045. The Climate and Biodiversity Hub has already worked with BRIN to develop the Ecoregion Biodiversity Status for Sumatra and Sulawesi. To extend this effort to the Bali- Nusa Tenggara region, a workshop was held on 11 September in Sumbawa, featuring FGDs to collect data and assess the capacity of local management units. This initiative aims to ensure that the information for IBSAP is effectively communicated to stakeholders, including local communities, to support sustainable biodiversity management.
