Land- and Seascape Solutions for Indonesia (LASSO)

Solutions for Integrated Land-and Seascape Management in Indonesia project mitigates the degradation of land and seascape in Indonesia, increasing the resilience of ecosystems and thereby promoting climate-resilient livelihoods by supporting the development of national policies, impact investment and innovative finance, designing planning laboratories and supporting capacity building among stakeholders.

Policy Targets :

The project aims to mitigate Land-and Seascape (LaS) degradation and increase the resilience of ecosystems to maintain their services and benefit people. The project will particularly target that 600,000 hectares LaS areas are protected and sustainably managed using an integrated and gender responsive LaS approach and key stakeholders incorporate ecosystem approaches into their LaS planning and management, leading to climate resilient livelihoods (CRL).

Policy Program/Initiative :
 
Develop national policies and guidelines on LaS integrated planning, impact investment and innovative finance, establish planning laboratories in pilot areas by supporting the implementation of community-based conservation and ecotourism models, incentive system for zero-waste in community-based ecotourism areas, build Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) for CRL, as well as conduct capacity building initiatives to support development and knowledge sharing among key stakeholders on LaS planning and management.
