The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) hosted the second Environment, Climate, Forestry, and New Renewable Energy (LIKE) Festival on 8-11 August 2024, which showcased climate-friendly innovations ahead of COP29 in November 2024. A key highlight was the launch of the “Carbon Footprint Calculator 2.0,” developed by the Directorate General of Climate Change Control with support from the German Federal Government through GIZ Climate and Biodiversity Hub Indonesia project. This tool allows users to measure their carbon footprints, with over 20,000 festival participants calculating 3,684.28 tons of CO2 emissions during the event. Climate and Biodiversity Hub Indonesia’s contribution was instrumental in developing the platform, which will help monitor greenhouse gas emissions across various sectors.
