Kick-off Meeting of the Development of Indonesian Ecoregion Biodiversity Status of Bali-Nusa Tenggara
The Directorate of Environment at Bappenas has been collaborating with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the GIZ Climate and Biodiversity Hub Indonesia on updating Indonesia’s biodiversity status and developing the Indonesian Ecoregion Biodiversity Status, key components of the Indonesian Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (IBSAP) 2025-2045.

Inception Meeting of the Green Academy Initiative
Green Academy, which was kicked off on 22 May 2024, is a platform initiated by Bappenas’ Directorate of Environment and supported by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) of the Government of the Republic of Germany through the GIZ Climate and Biodiversity Hub Indonesia. It aims to enhance capacity for sustainable development in Indonesia by providing leadership programs, knowledge-sharing forums, and training within the green economy framework.

The Second NDC Public Communication: Participation of stakeholder in development of Indonesia’s Climate Commitment
Indonesia is ramping up its climate efforts with the upcoming Second Nationally Determined Contribution (SNDC), a critical document for its role in the Paris Agreement. Set to be submitted before COP29 in 2024, the SNDC outlines Indonesia’s commitment to cutting greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change, while balancing development goals.

Launching a New Era: Indonesia’s IBSAP 2025-2045 for Biodiversity Protection
The Indonesian government officially launched the Indonesian Biodiversity Strategy & Action Plan (IBSAP) 2025-2045 on August 8, 2024, marking a major step towards biodiversity conservation. The strategy, developed with crucial support from the German Federal Government through GIZ Climate and Biodiversity Hub Indonesia project, includes the creation of a Biodiversity Management Index to track progress in biodiversity management.
