From 2020 to 2024, the Peat-IMPACTS Indonesia project operated in the Saleh River-Sugihan River and Sugihan River-Lumpur River Peat Hydrology Units in South Sumatra, covering the Ogan Komering Ilir and Banyuasin Regencies. Although the program has concluded, its lessons learned and collaborative efforts now serve as a model for sustainable peatland management in the region. A Multi-stakeholder Dialogue was held in Palembang on September 25, 2024, to discuss how communities in South Sumatra’s peat ecosystems can achieve prosperity through sustainable practices. The dialogue featured interactive discussions with local government, pioneer farmers, teachers, and village administrators, all committing to enhancing peatland management and stakeholder capacity.
