Urban Act Indonesia convened a strategic meeting at the Hermitage Hotel to discuss 2025 work plan, bringing together representatives from GIZ Indonesia, UCLG ASPAC, UNESCAP and Bappenas. The discussions focused on aligning project activities with national priorities, refining urban climate governance strategies, and strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders.

Key topics included integrating Urban Act’s outputs with Indonesia’s RPJPN 2025-2045 to support green economy and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets, enhancing urban climate finance mechanisms such as Dana Insentif Daerah (DID), and expanding Green Academy training modules on waste management, transportation, and climate finance.

The meeting also reviewed progress on mainstreaming Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in Padang and Medan, emphasizing its integration into local budgets. Participants further discussed the importance of regional knowledge-sharing with countries such as Thailand and the Philippines and explored the potential collaboration to oversee project outcomes.

Follow-up actions identified include finalizing the National Enabling Framework Conditions, updating policy reviews, advancing Green Academy initiatives, and assessing the need for an Implementing Agreement for the City Climate Gap Fund.

This initiative reaffirms Urban Act Indonesia’s commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive urban development.
