The inaugural Youth Climate Conference (YCC) 2024 in Jakarta, organized by IESR and CASE, brought together over 200 Indonesian youth to advocate for urgent climate action. Participants called for a shift to renewable energy, equitable policies, and greater inclusion in decision-making. The conference highlighted Indonesia’s ambitious energy transition goals and issued a youth declaration focused on reducing fossil fuel dependency, expanding renewable energy, and active youth involvement in policy formulation to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060.
